But for chef Matthew Basford, the pecan sticky buns win—hands down. “My favorite treat for brunch is the sticky buns,” Basford reveals. “It is good we only have them for one day a week,” he adds, laughing. “The rich buttery pastry combined with the silky-sweet nut syrup is unbeatable.”

“I grew up on Peachtree Battle right around the corner from Local Three,” says chef and partner Chris Hall. “One of my main goals when we opened, and it remains to this day, is to make sure Local Three is a neighborhood restaurant.” Weekly Sunday brunch compounds that feeling of community with old favorites like french toast, eggs, biscuits and bacon served buffet style.
The kicker: Guests are invited into the 5,000-square-foot kitchen to handpick their dishes as they come out fresh from the oven. “Our brunch is very popular with our guests because of the constantly rotating ingredients used based on the season,” says Chef de Cuisine Ben Barth.

St. Cecilia blends Italian culinary tradition with modern techniques to create memorable coastal European food in the center of the Buckhead Village. Executive Chef Craig Richard’s Old-World-inspired, ingredient-driven approach is evident in the recently launched Sunday brunch service—just in time for holiday shopping at Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza. St. Cecilia’s brunch menu combines classics like omelettes and eggs in purgatory as well as unique dishes including seafood entrees and an array of pastas.

“I am always a sucker for anything pounded and fried crispy,” says chef-owner Ford Fry. “So I can’t seem to get away from the pork Milanese with poached eggs and Harissa… but grazing the antipasto table is great for my instant gratification.”Sunday 11am-2:30pm, 3455 Peachtree Road NW, 404.554.9995, stceciliaatl.com
Inspired by the desire to bring authentic Tex-Mex to Atlanta, chef-owner Ford Fry and chef Kevin Maxey first opened Superica in Krog Street Market and later debuted a second location in Buckhead in July. “I grew up eating Mexican breakfast in Texas, but I hadn’t been able to find anywhere in Atlanta that served up the classic Tex-Mex breakfast,” says Fry of his weekend brunch.

While guest favorites include chilaquiles and hot cakes, Fry names the steak and eggs as his go-to. “My Superica favorite would definitely be the steak and eggs,” he says. “You can make your own breakfast tacos!”

The Shops Buckhead Atlanta, Dolce Italian brings classic Italian fare to the Buckhead Village neighborhood with dishes ranging from handcrafted pastas and seafood risotto to meatballs served over creamy polenta and specialty Neapolitan-style pizzas. But the menu gets a new spin for Sunday brunch with the brunch pizza topped with sausage and a poached egg, meatball gravy & grits, ricotta pancakes, mimosas, Bloody Mary’s and, of course, Prosecco.
Executive Chef Paolo Dorigato’s brunch favorite, however, is lasagna alla bolognese, which recalls fond childhood memories growing up in Trentino, Italy. “The smell of the lasagna was my alarm, my ‘good morning’ to the holiday,” he says of his mother’s signature weekend dish. After making fresh pasta and béchamel sauce, the lasagna was cooked for an hour and rested while the family headed to church. “By the time we were back, the lasagna was perfect,” Dorigato reminisces.
