Many Buckhead residents have been startled in recent weeks while driving through the intersection of East Andrews and Roswell Road in the Buckhead Village. The reason? The long-standing forest along Roswell Road has been razed in preparation for the development of Camden Buckhead which actually received development approval back in 2016. This is a follow-up project and 2nd phase to the Camden Paces property further down the block. The site will house two nine-story brick buildings with terrace frontages on Roswell Road.
The building’s 365 one and two-bedroom units will be a mix of townhomes and lofts situated across a total of 802,000 square feet with parking on the lower levels of the buildings. Planned amenities include multiple pools, fitness centers, lounge areas, grilling areas, conference room, bocce courts, and even a dog spa. Total construction costs will clock in at $47,500,000 according to the project’s building permits and will include new improved sidewalks and new tree plantings along East Andrews Drive and Roswell Road.
Buckhead.com has reached out to Camden Buckhead for a timeline and more information but no information has so far been released to the public. As of today, the vast empty site is a shocking sight to many who frequent the area. We can hope that Camden puts together a great-looking development that will compliment the Buckhead Village in the long-term as the area continues a rapid transition to a dense/walkable village.
