Just north of Buckhead Village along Roswell Road is a modest shopping center that is destined to become yet another mixed-use high rise development. The 2.5-acre site is currently home to The Big Ketch and Rock’n Taco, among other small businesses, and is located across from the Camden Buckhead residential development that is currently underway. New York-based Dream Hotel Group announced their plans to develop the property in July of last year and may break ground in January of 2020. City officials announced that official paperwork was filed with the City of Atlanta this week, an indication that development of this site is indeed moving forward.
Dream Atlanta Buckhead is slated to include two 12-story towers; one outfitted with 200 hotel rooms and the other with a speculated 50+ residences, an estimated 80,000 square feet of commercial and retail space, a wellness facility, spa, and a rooftop pool, bar, and lounge. Atlanta-based Cooper Carry has been brought on for the architectural design. Though other news agencies are reporting a projected open date in 2021, the website for Dream Hotel Group lists the open date as 2022.
Dream Atlanta Buckhead Hotel joins a number of other Dream Hotel locations including Phuket, Bangkok, Miami, Nashville, LA, and two in New York City.
