You may have noticed a big change to the former Wingate by Wyndham hotel on Piedmont Road near the intersection with Habersham. Extensively renovated, the previously nondescript hotel has been given fresh life as a boutique 102-room Burgess Hotel. Owners Burges and Freny Jokhi were inspired by international style and called upon decades of experience in the hotel business when reimagining the space.
The design harkens back to stories from their personal lives such as the “Mr. B Bar,” a space that was named after Freny’s late father, Keki Bunshah, organizer of the first Indian expedition to Mount Everest.
Guests can choose from King Bedrooms, King Suites, Double Queen Bedrooms, and the African Safari-themed Penthouse. Utilizing a playful mix of patterns and textures, the furnishings evoke chic yet comfortable surrounds in the lobby, lounge, and Mediterranean-inspired restaurant.
