The very popular and much anticipated Peachtree Road Farmers Market re-opened for one day this past Saturday to allow farmers and vendors to sell their goods and produce. Like most activities, future dates have been put on hold until further notice due to the coronavirus (Covid-19). Signs adorned most vendor stalls notifying the early morning thin but eager crowd that the market is closing its doors until “at least April 4th,” and encouraging patrons to stock up.
Despite the palpable sense of the unknown hanging over the event, live music was being played, people lined up for hot coffee and pastries, kids were tossing bean bags in a game of corn hole, and a vendor urged people to stock up on his canned jellies to “be prepared.”
Per the official website and this statement from the market’s instagram: “This will be our last market until at least April 3, so if you feel comfortable doing so, come stock up. Vendors taking extra precautions. Chef demo at 10am. Live music and fresh air.”

UPDATE 03-18-2020: The Peachtree Road Farmers Market is now helping to facilitate sales between vendors via online preorders. Pre-order will be available for pickup at St Philips Cathedral on Saturday mornings.
