The 33-acre grounds of the Atlanta History Center on West Paces Ferry Road in Buckhead Village were transformed to a series of spooktacular haunts on Friday, October 18. The sights included kid-friendly games and scavenger hunts and scary experiences throughout the grounds. Visitors trick-or-treated through the museum, the Smith Family Farm was transformed to a creepy wasteland of scarecrows, the Swan Coach House became the Swan Academy of Wizardry & Witchcraft, Swan Woods and Wood Family Cabin was overtaken by vampires, and the Goizueta Gardens and McElreath Hall became Shady Oaks Hospital, full of blood-thirsty nurses and patients abandoned since the ’80s.
Spooky sounds and an eerie fog blanketed the Atlanta History Center, transforming the usually cheery site to a Halloween experience like none other. Check out some photos from the event and be sure to come out next year to enjoy this annual tradition in person!
