Last weekend marked the highly anticipated grand opening of Buckhead’s newest and arguably most luxurious shopping center, Buckhead Atlanta. After 7 years and nearly a billion dollars of private investments, this elite shopping oasis opened its doors to welcome high expectations. As I strolled down freshly paved sidewalks and soaked in the allure of high end retail and fine dining, I couldn’t help but notice the thoughtful urban design. Comfortable walk-ability is met by fine landscaping as shoppers explore fashion icons and designer boutiques.
While many retailers have yet to open their doors, those in business gave a brilliant introduction. Beautiful designs hang in perfect formation against freshly painted walls and eager associates show an interest in each guest’s every need. Etro’s interior design was bright and bold while Brunello Cocinelli’s interior soothed guests with neutral colors and clean lines. As more shops and restaurants open their doors, the Buckhead community and visitors from all over the world are sure to find a luxurious experience at Buckhead Atlanta.
To my surprise, however; there weren’t many others sharing in my shopper’s bliss. For a Saturday afternoon, the sidewalks seemed quite lonely and bare. I believe that makes Buckhead Atlanta a hidden gem. Let’s only hope this gem doesn’t stay hidden for long. I am almost certain, it won’t.
