Leading worldwide provider of payment technology transaction services, Global Payments Inc, is investing $18 million in their new Buckhead headquarters. This win further bolsters Buckhead as a hot spot for financial technology (“FinTech”) companies. Global Payments has leased an impressive amount of space, the top three floors of Three Alliance Center on Lenox Rd, to accommodate staff and the 150 high-paying executive-level jobs they plan to bring in. According to the Atlanta City Council, this equates to an estimated economic impact of $46.7 million.
According to The Atlanta Business Chronicle, over 60 percent of credit and debit card transactions are processed by Georgia FinTech companies, with Global Payments being among the top providers. Georgia has over 90 financial technology companies with 30,000+ Georgia-based employees, according to a report written by TAG FinTech Society and the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business.
This endeavor (code named Project Spinoza), will bring Buckhead 150 high paying jobs, averaging an annual salary of at least $200,000. This anticipated growth further establishes Buckhead as a dominating hub for financial technology companies.
