Coffee lovers in Buckhead, your caffeinated prayers have finally been answered.
A drive-thru only Starbucks location is underway at 3370 Northside Parkway across the street from Ok Cafe and near the intersection with West Paces Ferry. Formerly this was the site of the Bank of America drive-thru teller.
Permits on the city of Atlanta website show the new 816-square-foot Starbucks will be a drive-thru only. Construction costs are estimated at $350,000, permits show. The permits do not indicate when the new coffee shop will be complete but construction on the foundation is underway.
“When Bank of America sold the land, they left a deed restriction in place that the current ATM drive-thru would remain in place,” said Ben Hirsh, owner/broker of Hirsh Real Estate in Buckhead. “This really limited the usability of an already small lot so it is interesting to see Starbucks come up with a clever use that makes the most of this site. This will fill a void in the market on the West side of Buckhead that has existed for years and complement the very busy Starbucks across the street that lacks a drive-thru.”
Starbucks began building drive-thru only concepts in 2012 and in 2013 began using reclaimed shipping containers for some of its drive-thru only concepts
